The future of the real estate industry is in the hands of Generation Y.
I’ve been really looking forward to today, but I’m even more excited about tomorrow.
My first post on a blog that is ultimately here to help all of us understand a lot more about where the real estate industry is heading with technology. I am really excited to see what ideas develop along the way. I’m especially looking forward to being able to contribute some personal insights for the industry, but I’m even more excited about some of the contributors that will be joining in along the way.
Whether you are a Baby Boomer, from Generation X or Generation Y this blog will always provide information to help you.
After 20 years in real estate I’ve seen a lot of changes take place, but these changes are nothing like the massive real estate 2.0 changes that have either already been developed or are just over the horizon.
I really want this blog to help fill the gap for some of the agents that currently struggle with technology & ultimately assist them to understand what today’s online real estate customer wants & expects.
If you feel you can help please feel most welcome to comment or contribute your thoughts or insights.

Fantastic idea for a website – I hope you do well with it and gain an audience.
I’m a mortgage lender and have done lots of networking online and in person (with Realtors). I’m a Gen Y (age 24) and I see the huge potential in “Web 2.0″ as we call it. Over the past 6 months I have researched and learned so much about what is available online for Realtors that I am about 24 hours away from registering online for courses to become a real estate agent!! I have toyed with the idea for months and have read article after article about R.E. technology. My only fear is of failing – but my thought is that if I am passionate and committed then there is no reason to fail. My market in south Florida is flooded with short sales and foreclosures and I’m willing to work hard to move the inventory – I’m ready to stand out and be different – and to use the Web 2.0 technology that is available. I have always admired what Realtors do – putting people in their dream homes – and I want to be a part of it. Providing mortgages is just a piece of the puzzle – I think I’m ready to be at the front line.
Your website is encouraging – thanks for listening to my blurb!
Hi Sarah, Thanks for the vote of support. You sound really passionate about getting into the real estate industry. Coming from mortgage lending will be a great assett in understanding the process that buyers & sellers go through. It’s really important that you learn some scripts & dialogues and practice those via some role playing.
One technique I heard for telephone role playing is to do it sitting back to back because over the phone you don’t get the luxury of seeing their non-verbal communication. I hope this helps. Go for it – you’ll love it. Regards Greg
PS. To help get you started keep an eye out for an Area Monopoly strategy that will be launched exclusively on this blog very soon.
