I really hope that I can make a difference.

Having been in real estate for over 20 years I know what it is like to have been one of the last agents in an area to embrace technology. When the major portals started rolling into our area & whenever any other technologies came our way, we simply dug our heels in or stuck our head in the sand and tried to do everything but embrace technology. Big Mistake. We went from being the stand out Number 1 agency in our area to being over taken by a number of our competition.

Instead of embracing technologies we chose to increase our market share geographically, by opening up numerous strategically placed offices at great expense. Had we moved ahead with technology instead we would have been so much further ahead. We would have saved hundreds of thousands of dollars & secured a larger percentage of the millions of dollars worth of sales turnover that went to our competitors. I missed that boat & never want to let that happen again.

This experience sent me on a path of discovery to find a way that we could take back control in our area & offer a real point of difference to our community.

In the process I have personally visited over 1500 real estate agencies within Australia during the past 6 months, invested thousands of dollars plus spent hundreds of hours researching & developing marketing strategies that could help us become the Leaders of Marketing & Innovation within our area.

The past 10 years has revolved around Web 1.0 strategies (real estate 1.0). Now that web 2.0 is here a lot of real estate agents will struggle with embracing these recent developments & will need help to move into what is commonly now known as Real Estate 2.0.

I have developed a number of simple marketing strategies & now have a real insight into what agents need to be mindful of as we all move into this next stage of technology advancements.

For most real estate agents the computer is often the last skill-set we want to embrace, with this in mind I will try to make the explanations & strategies as simple as possible. I’ll try to keep out as much of the computer IT jargon as possible.

Please take note that it is extremely important that you don’t miss this phase of technology by sticking your head in the sand like I did a number of years ago. This time around there will be a number of agents who will take off with Real Estate 2.0 strategies & it could become almost impossible to peg them back.
